The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) on Thursday June 19, 2026 marked its 60th anniversary with a tree-planting exercise at Karura Forest, bringing together Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa, CBK Governor Kamau Thugge, National Treasury officials, forestry leaders and financial sector stakeholders.
CBK positioned the tree-growing initiative as the flagship event of its CBK@60 celebrations and a contribution to Kenya’s transition to a low-carbon green economy.
