H.E. Dr. Dhadho Godana, Governor of Tana River County and Chairperson of the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP) Council of Governors, on June 18 led in the launch of the JKP Blue Economy Multi-Agency Action Plan (JKP-BEMAP) 2026–2030 at the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA). The plan brings together the six coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu, Tana River and Taita Taveta in a coordinated effort to harness and develop the Coastal Blue Economy.
The launch was attended by KMA Chairman Ahmed Kolosh, JKP CEO Dr. Emmanuel Nzai, KMA Director General CPA Omae Nyarandi, County Executive Committee Members from the coastal counties, Blue Economy Technical Advisor Dr. Edwin Ogumbo and other stakeholders, marking the start of regional collaboration on blue economy development over the next five years.
