RBA Orders Review of New 629 Standard Chartered Kenya Pension Claims

The Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) CEO Charles Machira has directed the trustees of Standard Chartered Kenya Pension Fund in Nairobi to assess each of the new 629 claims individually and determine them within 90 days in line with the tribunal’s findings. Each claimant is to receive a written determination covering claim details, application of the ruling, and outcome.

In a related complaint concerning the sale of Land Reference No. 209/7129, the Authority found no specific violation of the Retirement Benefits Act, associated regulations, or the scheme trust deed and rules, as no clear legal breach was identified in the transactions; consequently, no regulatory wrongdoing was established on the material presented.
