Kenya Power Plc, through its Institute of Energy Studies and Research (IESR) has partnered with US-based Kaddas Enterprises on June 18, 2026 to reduce wildlife electrocution along power lines. The project begins at Soysambu Conservancy on the Lanet–Naivasha Interconnector in Nakuru County It involves fitting wildlife-friendly covers on high-risk sections of the electricity network used by birds of prey and animals such as giraffes.
It also includes staff training on wildlife-safe infrastructure design and is expected to expand to other wildlife corridors across the country based on lessons from the pilot site.
