The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Statement On Licensing Mema Asset Management Limited as aFund Manager.
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has approved several applications relating to the licensing of a fund manager and the registration of collective investment schemes, in accordance with the Capital Markets Act and the applicable regulatory framework.
The Authority has granted Mema Asset Management Limited a fund manager license. The firm has been licensed to provide investment management services to local and international investors, including institutional and high net worth individuals, and intends to leverage its expertise and strategic networks to offer professional fund management services across the continent.
The Authority has also approved an application by CPF Asset Managers Limited to add an additional sub-fund under its existing umbrella collective investment scheme. The newly approved sub-fund, known as the CPF Multi-Asset Special Fund, is an open-ended fund designed to provide investors with exposure to a diversified portfolio of alternative investments, including private equity, private debt, offshore investments, and other unlisted securities within Kenya, selected regional markets, and global markets. The fund aims to offer diversification from traditional asset classes while targeting long-term capital growth and sustainable income.
In addition, the Authority has approved an application by Dyer & Blair Investment Bank Limited for the registration of additional sub-funds under the Dyer & Blair Unit Trust Scheme. The approved sub-funds are: the Dyer & Blair Fixed Income Fund (USD), Dyer & Blair Global Multi Asset Strategy Special Fund (KES), and Dyer & Blair Global Multi Asset Strategy Special Fund (USD).
These approvals are part of the Authority's ongoing efforts to deepen Kenya's capital markets, enhance product diversity, and promote access to professionally managed investment opportunities for different categories of investors.
