Nursing Council Of Kenya Statement On Approved Nursing Colleges And Courses In Kenya

It has come to our attention that African International Technical College is advertising and purporting to offer a nursing-related course without the necessary approval from NCK. The Council wishes to draw your attention to Section 21 of the Nurses and Midwives Act CAP 257 Laws of Kenya, which stipulates that any person conducting nursing training courses without Council approval, upon conviction, is guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand shillings (Ksh.500,000), or imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or both.

NCK wishes to further notify the entire public that Nurse Aid, Nursing Assistant, and Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training are not recognized programmes by the Nursing Council of Kenya. We urge prospective students and their guardians to be on the lookout and verify the accreditation status of any institution before enrolling in any nursing or midwifery programme. For a list of approved institutions and programmes as of 28th October 2024, please visit our official website via https://nckenya.com/approved-training-institutions/.
