AFA Statement on Declaration and Verification of Macadamia Stocks Harvested

As communicated through the press release dated 10th November 2025, on the 'seasonal closure on harvesting and trade in domestically produced macadamia nuts', the export of domestically produced macadamia nuts shall not be permitted from 1st December 2025 to 15th February 2026 for any crop harvested during the closure period.

In this regard, all addressed macadamia value chain players are required to declare the quantities of macadamia nuts currently held in store that were harvested before the closure period using the attached prescribed form.

The declarations should be submitted to the Authority before 1st December 2025 through infonocd@afa.go.ke.

Please note that the Authority will dispatch officers to verify the declared quantities and assess their quality and maturity to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and/or standards. Only declared and verified quantities will be permitted for export during the closure period.
