Kenya Airways Profit Warning Statement for Full Year 2025
Kenya Airways (KQ) profit warning statement for full year ending December 2025.
The Board brings to the attention of the public that the earnings for the current financial year 2025 are expected to be lower by at least 25% than the earnings reported for the same period in FY2024. This announcement is based on the forecasted financial results of the Group for the year ending 31st December 2025.
Although the aviation industry is in a steady recovery, supported by strong passenger demand, particularly on international routes, the sector has faced notable headwinds, including engine availability challenges, persistent spare parts global supply chain constraints as well as aircraft shortages in the market. As a result, Kenya Airways has grounded three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, which constitutes 33% of its wide body fleet. This has significantly impacted the Airline's performance due to reduction in capacity and drop in passenger numbers.
The Board and Management remain committed to recovery efforts, including returning grounded aircraft to service, cost reduction and executing partnerships and capital raising initiatives aimed at stabilizing operations and improving the Company's financial performance.
