Maasai Mara University Statement On Eligibility To Sit For End Of Semester Examinations
Maasai Mara University wishes to address and clarify the recent concerns circulating on social media platforms regarding students' eligibility to sit for their end of semester II examinations for Academic Year FY 2024/2025.
The University communicated three clear deadlines for the payment of fees to all students well in advance on 26th March, 2025, 8th April, 2025 and 11th April, 2025. Further, it was made clear that students who made any payments after the final deadline would not be eligible to sit for the ongoing examinations.
However, students who paid after the deadline were advised to defer their examinations to the next supplementary/special examinations period scheduled for August, 2025 at no extra cost. This was put in place to ensure fairness and uphold academic integrity across the board.
In addition, those who have not cleared fees will have an opportunity to do so before the scheduled August, 2025 examinations.
The University further clarifies that first and second year students under the new government students funding model were only required to pay the household component, while third and fourth year students were expected to settle their full fees. All students were aware that they should settle outstanding fees by Friday 11th April, 2025 at 5:00 pm.
The University is aware of misleading and convoluted information being circulated among students on social media and other platforms, which has the potential to occasion anxiety among all stakeholders and is calculated to bring the reputation of the University into disrepute. We urge students to ignore this propaganda and to direct any clarifications, concerns or grievances through the official University communication channels. The University administration remains open and ready to provide appropriate guidance and support where needed.
Maasai Mara University remains committed to academic excellence, transparency, and student welfare in accordance with the regulations in force as we continue to uphold our values and defend the good image and reputation of the University. In furtherance of this, we undertake to ensure that all decisions are made with integrity and in the best interest of the students and other University stakeholders.
For any further clarification or information, and to allay any unnecessary anxieties, students are advised to contact the Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs).
