KCAA Statement on Suspension of Operations of Personal Licensing Department For 30 Days

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) wishes to inform stakeholders that the Authority has, with immediate effect, temporarily suspended operations of the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Department for a period of 30 days to facilitate the transition to a fully automated licensing system. This modernization is aimed at eliminating duplication, improving efficiency, and providing applicants with a faster and seamless service experience. As part of this transformation, KCAA will also introduce a computer-based examination system to further enhance transparency, reliability, and overall service delivery in licensing.

KCAA is mindful that this temporary suspension may cause concern, and has established a dedicated feedback channel, to be shared early next week, for stakeholders to input their recommendations, past complaints, noted illegalities, irregularities, and other concerns. The information can be shared anonymously through the channel. This will play a key role in refining the examination and licensing process.

The Authority remains committed to upholding the highest standards of aviation training and licensing, while ensuring continuity, trust, and the sustained growth of a safe, efficient, and dynamic aviation sector.
