Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Statement on Procurement Irregularities and Corruption Reports

KPA Statement on Procurement Irregularities and Corruption Reports

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has taken note of recent media reports alleging irregularities in certain procurement processes within the organization. These media reports do not reflect the facts or the operational standards of KPA.

As a responsible public institution, KPA remains firmly committed to the highest standards of corporate governance; with transparency, accountability, and integrity at the core of all our operations. Our procurement processes strictly adhere to the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015 and are subject to robust internal checks and independent external audits to ensure full compliance with the law.

Preliminary internal assessments indicate that the documents cited in the media reports were either taken out of context, misinterpreted, or selectively presented in a manner intended to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of the Authority.

In line with our values of openness and accountability, we have proactively invited relevant oversight agencies to independently review the procurement matters in question. This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to due process and continuous improvement.

We assure our stakeholders, partners, and the public that KPA's systems are structured to uphold integrity and transparency at every stage. Any clarification or information required will be provided through the appropriate channels in an open and timely manner.

KPA remains open to constructive scrutiny and fully committed to maintaining the trust of the people of Kenya.
