IMLU is deeply concerned by the treatment of human rights defenders (HRDs) in Tanzania, including the arrest and detention of Boniface Mwangi and Agather Atuhaire.
We call for their immediate and unconditional release and urge Tanzanian authorities to uphold their obligations to protect civic space, freedom of expression, and the safety of HRDs.
