UHC Staffs Siaya County Statement On Continued Strike

In reference to the above subject matter, we write to bring to your attention that, following the consultative meeting between the union officials and the ministry of health on 6th May 2025, in which both the principal secretary and the CEO council of governors made a communication on the resolutions. As UHC staff in Siaya County, we reject in totality the content of the communication. We (UHC staff) will not continue to witness the discrimination with which issues concerning health workers are handled at the Ministry of Health. We demand the transfer of our payroll to the County as per the SRC salary scale and our 5-year service gratuity.

Until these demands are met or a proper structure is put in place towards achieving this, all Siaya County UHC staff will continue with the strike as communicated by the union since the beginning of this journey.

We are open for any form of engagement with our employer and union leaders regarding the same for a smooth working relationship.
