Rigathi Gachagua full Statement On Resigning From UDA Party

By a copy of this letter, you are notified that I have officially resigned from the UDA Party with immediate effect. I have made this decision in knowledge of the ideals of the Party we believed in and so were millions of Kenyans, but now has turned out as the most dangerous political moment for the people and the Republic of Kenya in retrogressive philosophy of unfit class to govern our Nation. The party has exhausted and wasted a Kenyan moment to take off economically, socially and politically.

It will be recalled that, while affirming the Kenya Kwanza Manifesto, our Presidential Candidate then (in 2022), said, "It is my firm conviction that the unity, stability and prosperity of our country lies not in the greatness of men but in the strength of our institutions. Our United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is founded on the ideology that the national aspirations - justice, peace, freedom, prosperity - that we pray for, as we sing our national anthem, is a covenant that binds us to political inclusion and economic empowerment of all Kenyans." As a party, and millions of Kenyans, we believed and trusted him and this statement. It was a lie. No nation can be built on a litany of lies.

Notably, we promised the Sovereign people of Kenya as follows; however, the Ruling Party/ Kenya Kwanza Coalition moves in sinusoidal malignancy.

For the record and be rightly so:

BOTTOM-UP ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION AGENDA: We promised to lift Kenyans from the bottom of the economic pyramid; this was an inclusive economic model that millions of Kenyans believed in. We signed economic charters with all the counties and various professional bodies. It is, however, disturbing that the Kenya Kwanza rogue Administration is still searching for these charters in their dusty shelves. The Hustler Fund: the dream for the Hustler Fund as it were, was to lift Kenyans at the bottom of the economic pyramid. What business can Kshs. 500 start sustainably?

We had THE PLAN: To implement THE PLAN, we set 5 core sectors:

i. Agriculture

ii. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) economy

iii. Housing and Settlement

iv. Healthcare

v. Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy

The above sectors are now a Centre of crime with no tangible gains to the people of Kenya.

AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION; we promised the Kenyan farmer he would be happy; we made a promise the Kenya would be food sufficient and that no Kenyan would live in the shame of lacking food. We promised that reforms would be our language. Our coffee and tea farmers would live happily; we had promised the country an increased foreign exchange, job creation, lower cost of living and food security; through this we are being treated to no fertilizer for farmers, and grabbing of agricultural land by the powerful.

HOUSING; We believed as a Party, this would be a game changer towards dignifying the people of the Republic of Kenya; I cannot be part of a political party that advances such oppression; We committed "to turn the housing challenge into an economic opportunity and employ over 100,000 young graduates from TVETS into the sector by building 250,000 houses every year". Unfortunately, this has become an individual business venture and a sharp sword on the payslip of the Kenyan worker. Our commitment was "to grow mortgages from 30,000 to 100,000". Where the UDA brigade is on this matter, it is Kenyans being auctioned by commercial institutions.

HEALTHCARE; under this helpless regime of UDA/ Kenya Kwanza, the healthcare system has collapsed. The failed healthcare system under the SHA ideology is a business venture, under few bureaucrats in the Kenya Kwanza Administration. Yet we had promised the people of Kenya, as a party, we would have had them under a safe and affordable healthcare by December of 2022. As a party, we had a commitment to Universal Health Coverage;

SERVICE ECONOMY: UDA had promised to "Deploy a credible macroeconomic framework and growth strategy to strengthen external creditworthiness, enabling government to borrow cheaply externally and end crowding out of private sector from the domestic credit market;" we have become a begging nation; borrowing recklessly for budgeted corruption. No country can progress under the leadership of such a Political Party hidden and mischievous philosophy.

ICT AND DIGITAL SUPERHIGHWAY; Our commitment was to "Reduce the cost of calls and data to allow wananchi, and especially the youth, to use online platforms for entertainment, information and business." Unfortunately, the opposite is the philosophy of this UDA/ KK Government.

SPORTS AND SPORTING ACTIVITIES: We had committed to turn around the sports regime in Kenya since, "The brand value that Kenyans participating and excelling in the international sports arena is incalculable. But far too often, the Government lets down our sports people, in terms of facilitation and provision of adequate resources. "What we are treating the Kenyan sportsmen and women to remains a dark history for our respected Nation we are Kenya.

ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE: We had committed, among other matters, on environment and climate change agenda "to reduce emissions by 32 per cent by 2030". Unfortunately, this has since been moved to the famous 15 Billion Tree Slogan International Corruption Scandal/whose Chief Architect is well known to the Kenyan people.

EDUCATION: We committed as a Coalition / Party to address the inequities in our education system so as to level the playing field for all children irrespective of their background. We further commit to equitable universal basic education defined as 12 years of schooling. The UDA party is delivering a failed CBC curriculum, an incoherent and corrupt university funding model. No Kenyan child or parent is safe under this planned failure. Why is the future of our nation being tested through a bad system from the start?

WOMEN AGENDA: We had promised our women that they would be included in the productive economy and in all sectors; implement the two-thirds gender rule in elective and appointive positions in the public sector within 12 months after the elections. Further, the UDA party had promised to ensure availability of clean, safe, environmentally-friendly and affordable cooking fuels; and provide free sanitary towels in all schools and public washrooms. The regime is only meting violence on women and abducting and killing their children while arbitrarily detaining others. School going children, including Secondary School Girls, cannot be allowed to express themselves without being subjected to police brutality.

SOCIAL PROTECTION: As UDA / Kenya Kwanza, we made commitments to the PWDs, the senior citizens, our children and girls that we would build an equal society for them; the party made a promise never to leave anyone behind. Universal pensions, internet connectivity to all schools, among others; the party unfortunately is making lies and promises more sellable every day. UDA has left every Kenyan on their own and behind.

GOVERNANCE: We made a commitment to respect the constitution and the rule of law. As it were, the constitutional coup by this regime remains unmatched in the history of governance since antiquity.

FOREIGN POLICY: We had a commitment to make "Kenya a respected and valued country abroad by promoting friendly relations with our neighbors". We are now embroiled in conflicts and international shame with our friendly nations due to bad diplomacy.

DEVOLUTION: We made a broad promise to respect and enhance devolution as is under the constitution and other laws. This is no longer the case.

Reconciling with my conscious, the party that we founded on principles of good governance has now turned out to be the worst enemy to the people of the Republic of Kenya, to the future of our nation, to the sovereignty of our country, and to the contempt of our constitution.

It is my patriotic duty as a Kenyan believing in the rule of law and millions of others who do so, in the sanctity of our constitution and respecting our forefathers and freedom fighters in the cause for our great nation that I tender my resignation from a party that does not listen to its people, the people of the Republic of Kenya.
