Bodaboda Association Statement On The Shooting Of Kasipul MP Charles Were

The Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK) strongly condemns the tragic and senseless fatal shooting of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and constituents of the late MP during this time of grief.
As an organization committed to promoting safety, accountability, and professionalism within the bodaboda sector, BAK firmly distances itself from any individuals who use motorcycles to commit acts of violence or crime. Such actions not only endanger the lives of innocent Kenyans but also tarnish the image of thousands of hardworking, law-abiding riders across the country.
We call upon the relevant authorities to expedite investigations and bring all those involved in this heinous act to justice without delay. We urge the public and law enforcement to treat this incident as a criminal matter and not a reflection of the bodaboda community as a whole.
BAK remains committed to working closely with government agencies, local communities, and security forces to identify rogue elements and enhance public safety.
We stand united in rejecting violence and reaffirm our mission to uphold peace and lawful conduct within the bodaboda industry.
